Information Update

**KEY ITEMS REQUIRED**

The hike trails varies in terrain as it ascends (starts on road, woods (humid & muddy in places), marsh mountain side (wet) and also loose rock at the top) so there are different condition under foot to be aware of.

For the hike, please bring the following;

  • Hiking boots or boots with good grip ideally waterproof
  • Light rain jacket (rain is expected)
  • Suggest wearing multiple light layer
  • Hiking socks and bring a spare pair
  • Walking/hiking stick
  • Bottle of Water
  • Small back pack or bun bag

Itinerary – Saturday 14th September 2019

10:00    Register attendance on the day & pay

10:15    Mini bus transfer to the start point on Nephin Mountain

14:00    After the hike light refreshments will be served in Murphy’s pub

18:30    Arrive at the function room in the Park Hotel Kiltimagh

19:00    Dinner – Please remember to bring your wrist band

20:00    Live music & Entertainment

REGISTRATION:

Saturday 14th at 10am – Registration will take place in Murphys Pub in Lahardane Village.

As you have register online please present yourself at the registration desk to sign your attendance and pay you €30 entry fee. You can also collect & pay your pre-ordered T-shirt at this time and any extra wrist bands you require.

**Remember to wear your wrist band to the evening meal in Kiltimagh to gain entry**

If you or your team have not registered in advance please fill in one of the form on the day at the registration desk.

There will so be a t-shirt stand if you want to purchase a charity hike t-shirt.

Al funds raise from the sale of the t-shirt go towards our chosen charities.

HIKE:

There will be a bus transfer from the village to start line in Nephin Car park.

Please follow the yellow JR sign and white Peg that outline the route.

At the 2km mark where the sitting benches are will indicate the half-way point for the 4km hike.

At this point the 4km hike will turn around and descend back down to the car park.

Caution: Please mind you footing and when you step at all times. Don’t grab hold of any of the wire fences to support yourself as this could cause injury.

Please do not deviate from the group or trail.

There will be a roll call to check that all participants are down off the mountain so if you leave early or don’t finish please let someone on the ground team in murphy’s bar know (leave you participant no.) or message +447771713353

If you have any medical condition that you seek advice from your doctor before to attempt the hike.

 

REFRESHMENTS:

After the hike there will be light refreshments served in Murphys pub in Lahardane Village for all participants.

Evening event:

The after event will begin at 7pm at The Park Hotel, Swinford Road , Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo. You are welcome to arrive before 7pm to ensure the evening start on time. The all-Ireland replay will be shown in the bar in the hotel.

After the meal there will be live music from 9:30pm and DJ to follow.

**Remember to wear your wrist band to the evening meal in Kiltimagh to gain access**
